LISA VALENCIA MAKEUP: EYELINER

Black eyeliner is a look i've been wearing for the past 10 years, every day it takes me moments, to sweep a line of the black stuff across my upper lashes, this for me is my i'm ready to take on the day look, my desert island must have. It's also the one makeup item that stops even the most confident of women in there makeup tracks, WHY ? because they find it scary, '' i love eyeliner but i just don't know how to use it ''

for those just starting out,
You can use a soft smudgy pencil, RIMMEL SPECIAL EYES EYELINER PENCIL this is great for creating a smokey eye.
For added drama, try running a MUA BLACK GLITTER EYELINER( £1.00 from superdrug ) over the top of your pencil line, this is a great way of adding drama to your look.
For the slightly more advanced, I recommend BOBBI BROWN LONG WEAR GEL LINER use this with an angled brush, its pretty easy to use, and you can layer it up for a more dramatic effect.
AND for the eyeliner experts amongst us, and all those with a steady hand, nothing screams french chic, more than a slick of liquid black liner, it sits beautiful along the top lashes, i still haven't found a liner that gives back quite as much as BENEFIT MAGIC INK LIQUID EYELINER, this liner isn't going anywhere, it's there to stay,
As with all eyeliner, the secret is to run the liner along the root of your top lashes, this way, you can ensure that you will have a neat line, and no gap between your liner and lashes, the outer flick can be practiced, but a general rule of thumb is to angle the liner towards the outer corner of your eyebrows.
So there you have it, get practicing, it's one of the few makeup looks that by the time you have perfected it, you wont need to worry about it loosing face and being '' so last season '' this look is a classic and is here to stay.
